It's time for Democrats to start making some demands

[Renew Deal]

We shouldn't just be defending against the republican mob in congress.

Social Security age should be decreased to 65 (or maybe even 63).
Medicare should be available for all people or a public option for all ages
Food support levels should be increased beyond where they were before the decrease
Minimum wage should be increased
A fortune should be spent to fix infrastructure
Another fortune should be spent on fixing Veterans Affairs
Gas standards need to be increased while increasingly supporting non-fossil fuel options
Savings should be found in a reduction of certain subsidies (Oil in particular)

We should be beating the drum on these issues. There is no reason to accept that we need to cut, cut, cut. We need to argue vociferously that money should be spent to improve the country and people's lives. Find ways to save money by restructuring programs and reducing certain expenditures.

Agree, we need to be affirmative, not always in defensive mode. Need to get aggressive, and encourage our reps to get out there and yell.
