It's time for Dems to say it: DEMAND matters as much as SUPPLY.

This is why it's right to fight for wage increases.

This is why it's right to fight for more unionization.

This is why it's right to fight for more job security for workers and

This is why it's right to fight AGAINST downsizing and outsourcing.

Our economy needs to have people who can BUY the things that get produced.

If nobody buys, it doesn't freaking matter how easy it is to provide supply(and it doesn't help to allow the supply to be overpriced or shoddy) OR how rich the "supply side" gets providing the supply.

Demand is necessary.

Secure jobs, full employment and consumer confidence are just as important as "business confidence".

Our party has to say that, has to get behind it, or we're going to just keep sliding down in years when we should be able to win going away.

Not rocket science.

If ACME Inc. sees a market for 1000 more widgets at production cost or greater, ACME's damn well going to make 1000 more widgets.

See if we give big corporations.....er, sorry I mean "small businesses" more money then even if nobody can afford what they are selling they'll still make lots of it and hire lots of people. Just because they're so happy that we gave them more money and because they are just so magnanimous and giving.

That would be...would be...well...anti-Raygun. You can't actually believe that demand-side could be a more powerful driver of growth for the economy than supply side.

Obviously, you've never heard of or studied the "laugh-er curve" (as in I laugh every time someone tries to claim it works!)

Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.

But of the two, supply would not exist without demand, while demand can exist without supply.

So the food chain goes like this: Labor > Demand > Supply

As long as we all know that in some sort of fashion, Labor is superior to Supply (if we assume that the Supply is not owned by Labor).

Even if not, with those clowns it's best to set the bar all the way to the left because you know they will be pulling all the way to the far right in any negotiation. So stop making it so easy for them to get 98% of what they want and we are only left with 2%.

What are they thinking? If the people have no money we can buy nothing and the "makers" will go out of business. How can anyone not understand that? Actually I guess there are a lot.
