Barney Frank Said on PoliticsNation

If you want to stop wasteful Government spending
End the Afganistan War Sooner rather than later. bring the troops home by January

Because let's face it, we are not going to build a Government we want their
So let's get out of there.

(not an exact quote but I got most of the words in the right order)

He also said, "If you put my record up against John Boehner's I will look like a Fiscal conservative"
He mentioned that Boehner Voted for the two wars, and the Bush Tax cuts and he did not

I like how he explained how he was more fiscally conservative than Boner. But he also should have all the Dems are also more FC than all those war loving Rethugs.

Dems seem to just accept SS and Medicare need reforming and some sort of cut. But, if we brought the troops home and stopped manufacturing all those weapons we could balance the budget and would have money for education and infrastructure. We just have to change the meme.

It will accomplish nothing. It was a complete waste of money and lives. We should leave immediately and apologize to the people of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan did not attack us on 911. No nation-state attacked us on 911.

To bad the Rethugs didn't use the Shutdown as a Platform to end the War.

Unless it is one started by Democrats. But many have complained that we left Iraq prematurely. Can you even imagine such a distorted mindset. I guess maybe it isn't a distorted mindset for those profiting from the longest war in American history.

I would say loving war is a good thing. The Dems need to start a counter push. They seem to take Republican wants and just except or reject them. they need to Counter with facts and reality and more important things

I can't be sure I am accurate but I think I heard the other day that "Entitlement spending is 17% of the budget"

but Defense spending is almost 50% and historically it's elevated during war time. if they ended this last useless war and cut defense spending by 5 to 10%. All this talk of gutting Entitlements would be pointless. Why doesn't someone on our side start pushing that point over and over?

Democrats, except for a select few, don't seem to want to go against the "cut entitlements" narrative.
