On the substance, Boehner is making out rather well
He gets 2013 sequestration locked in, as well as a sort of reverse debt ceiling so that his hawks can vote as many times as they want to cap the debt knowing that the Senate and White House are a circuit breaker between them and any consequences for that. And apparently his job is safe. All he has to do is put up with 48 hours of op ed pieces about his having to face the "humiliation" of... doing exactly what every Speaker since Muhlenberg has had to do to pass clutch bills.
Don't expect this genie to go back into the bottle any time soon.
