pretty quiet over at FR this morning...

Most threads have under ten replies. Have they lost their spirit? Their spunk?

Here's a post from the biggest thread, with 43 replies.

1. I like Cruz a lot, but what has he accomplished here? He led people to believe Obamacare could be delayed or stopped, and there was never a chance for that outcome. So what was accomplished? Because we went into this fight without a realistic endgame strategy we just got rolled. This will make Obama stronger and conservatives weaker. This was not a well thought out fight.

2. It IS accomplishing several things:

It got people focused on the negatives of Obamacare. How many negative stories would have been out there if Cruz hadn't relentlessly told us about them? Right now we would be looking at stories about how great Obamacare is for the country and how much all of congress just loves it.

2. It showed us who the quisling and traitors are in the Republican party. Who is willing to fight and who is willing to collaborate. We have the usual suspects...plus some surprises.

3. He took the shine off Obama. Virtually nobody DARED to say a thing about Obama lest they be eviscerated. Ted is getting eviscerated but he'll live. He's showing the courageous that sticks and stones may break our bones by standing up to Obama. 4. He's given conservatives hope and a leader to coalesce around. He's done nothing but stand up for his values and the voters who put him there.

There's more, but think along these lines and you'll see how important Ted Cruz is.

Can you actually imagine any of them going through and dealing with the immigration form?

Immigration forms to get into this country are bad enough. I don't know what they're like for Australia or Canada, though I've been told ours are more convoluted, and I would have to agree with that part (having gone through that process when I was married to my first, and immigrating Canadian, wife.)

Now, I'm having to figure out the Fiancé Visa for my immigrating girlfriend

I went through the immigration process, and got my citizenship before 2001.

I saw parts of the Canadian process, and consider any sort of immigration process daunting.

Which is why I mentioned I can not see them doing such a thing to begin with.

Can you imagine them having to try to remember facts and laws of a different country and abide by them? You're right. I sure can't.

Alright, that's probably not true, but the rhetoric over there just reeks of hate crimes and violent insurrection.

Obamacare actually got more popular and it's seen as more positive than before the shutdown. Meanwhile, Cruz and the GOP's approval numbers dropped like a rock. These people are really out of touch with reality.

My lol for the day.

Does that mean Cruz is now gutless? or getting a new liver? Yet he's still standing. It's zombietime.

President Obama the dumbest person they have ever seen in one breath, but accuse the President of having amazing control powers over them in the next breath. Someone needs to dump ten truck loads of sedatives into that sewer.
