So they're waiting till tonight to vote? Me no likee

You can't count on Boner to be anywhere near sober after Happy Hour (5 o'clock somewhere). I'm not going to celebrate till after Obama signs this tonight (hopefully).

I still don't trust the self-destructing House repukes.

Edit to add: last minute amendment or some other attachment to poison the whole thing--leave Democrats with no time to respond.

If the Senate votes first, they still need to send it to the House, debate and vote. So, the timing is not that odd.

Of course, if the first vote is tonight, this is weirder.

Reid and McConnell worked out this bill to begin with. I'm more afraid that the tp's in the house will attach an amendment to it and send it back to the senate as they leave town.

If the House has more than the minimum time to pass the bill, it just gives members opportunities to find a way to screw with it.

procedurally. If the Senate goes first, and puts in several more hoops that procedurally must be jumped through. So Boehner will meet with his people, then they will vote on it in the House. After that, the Senate can vote on it. That's the simplest way to do it.

As someone married to a lady that is half Chinese I find it offensive and hardly something I expect to find here.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.
