So after this blows over later today...

Will the news outlets seek out any Democrats for quotes and commentary, or will they go the usual route of handing the mic to McConnell and standing back in silence while he pontificates for 20 minutes?

taking a breath, forcing the host to interrupt over and over again, or just pull the feed. I hope that now they will revisit who they bring on for free publicity, and set some rules. Not holding my breath.

For any major issue, it seemed like they would consult two Republican senators and a Conservative commentator, and then for "balance" they would feature an abbreviated sound-byte from some third-tier Democratic senator.

Maddening.

that serves to fill 24/7 cable and networks, is waning...out of sheer exhaustion. It's incredulous how many short "video clips", to match the average attention span, are needed to fill that many programming slots. Usually the crazies are on the fringe which is usually the Republican/TP, which may be some of the reason they seem to get so much air time. The old "squeaky wheel" thing. Their ability to talk nonstop without taking a breath amazes me.

I have also considered that a Democrat's time and energy seems to be less about themselves getting on TV or putting up with The Whining RW they would have to endure or match, and cooperating and attending more to the people. Agree it's a "flaw", but if we still have to be in political Kindergarten, it's best to be the teacher, not the 5-year old.

At the very least, I'm hopeful that we can at least get a reprieve from teh nonstop bullshit.
