I think we need to take up a collection and buy a round of petards for the House.

Well, at least for the House members who got punked.

Let them hoist them. Let them be made to hold them so very high before they do their work. Let them do their work slowly.

Let them not be allowed to shed them until after the next election cycle.

Mr. Speaker, Petards For All your Army!!!!

But subtlety ain't my gig, so I figured I'd call it out for those DUers who did not know this bit of trivia.

Here's the entry from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/petard?s=t:

pe·tard
[pi-tahrd] Show IPA

noun
1. an explosive device formerly used in warfare to blow in a door or gate, form a breach in a wall, etc.

2. a kind of firecracker.

3. ( initial capital letter ) . Also called Flying Dustbin. a British spigot mortar of World War II that fired a 40-pound (18 kg) finned bomb, designed to destroy pillboxes and other concrete obstacles.
Idioms
4. hoist by / with one's own petard, hurt, ruined, or destroyed by the very device or plot one had intended for another.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Origin:
1590–1600; < Middle French, equivalent to pet ( er ) to break wind (derivative of pet < Latin pēditum a breaking wind, orig. neuter of past participle of pēdere to break wind) + -ard -ard

Also, take note of the origin: farting. That, too, is appropriate when dealing with the Teabaggers.

or on a more lowbrow level:

Edited to add: Yeah, I know! I'm overworking the Wile E. Coyote references; but, they're so appropriate for the GOP, and especially Boner, these days!
