...especially now that she is a woman old enough to say exactly what she thinks and not care how anyone feels about it.

Sen. Barb is wonderful. I had a chance to talk to her last year at the New Carrollton Metro station. She was talking to another voter and I was chatting with her assistant, basically saying if I didn't vote for Barb, my husband would never speak to me again and that my sister-in-law went to the same Catholic high school at Sen. M had. The assistant turned to Sen. Barb and said excitedly "Her sister in law went to Notre Dame. With that, Barb turned to me with a wide smile. We spoke for a few minutes and laughed about the school's nickname "Nutty Dames".

I've never met Sen. Barb in person, even though I've lived in Maryland for 24 years.

Maybe some day...

the one thing about meeting her in person is how, um, how to put this politely, short she is. I'm barely 5 feet 2 inches and I towered over her. Still a redoubtable lady!

and she was very very diplomatic. First she said that she had admired his (Wolf's) work for years and thanked him for coverage, THEN she told him how people were more imnportant than the procedure he was so engrossed with. He blinked a few times when he realized he was being chided..

Go Barbara...
