Lindsey Graham says Wait 'Til Next Year

and the Senate's, uh, package, is a joke:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is not pleased with the latest Senate deal to end the shutdown and raise the debt ceiling, but accepts that it is the only remaining option to avert default.

"This package is a joke compared to what we could have gotten if we had a more reasonable approach," Graham told the Washington Post on Wednesday. "But live and learn; we’ll be doing this in a couple months."

Graham added that Republicans need a different strategy the next time Congress addresses the budget.

"For the party, this is a moment of self evaluation, we are going to assess how we got here," he said. "If we continue down this path, we are really going to hurt the Republican Party long-term."

4. Obama's firm stand certainly changed the dynamic. They weren't expecting that.

Now they have to factor in Obama's newly strengthened position AND his firm refusal to let the nation be taken hostage over the debt ceiling fight, which the American people back by huge majorities. I'm loving that.

7. One thing I noticed in that ABC poll

90 percent of Democrats polled said they thought our party was doing the right things in this crisis. Only 7 percent disagreed. The Pukes were pretty much dividied in half.

This should show our Dem leadership that when they stand strong for what we want, we have more than got their back and can unite. I just hope they keep this memory fresh in their minds in the tough times ahead.

He says ...

"But live and learn; we’ll be doing this in a couple months."

And then ...

"If we continue down this path, we are really going to hurt the Republican Party long-term."

3. Yeah, Linsday, that's the same thing everyone said after election day 2012.

Your self-evaluation then didn't change much, did it?
