(7,572 posts)Hope they will continue because this isn't over. I think the sequester is here to stay unless we can take control of the House and increase numbers in the Senate. This directly impacts my family negatively.

and, even if they're that stupid (which they probably are), it will just drive their positives even farther into the ground -- three months closer to Election Day. (They might as well hand the gavel right over to Pelosi then and there if they do that.)

(1,515 posts)We need to have the Dems' backs, turn up the heat even more and knock the sweat bejesus out of the Repubs leading up to January or we'll see nothing happen in President Obama's second term as this shit pops up every three months.
Which principle do the Republicans hold higher, greed or hate?

(107 posts)strengthen verification measures, not a lot but wasn't a clean bill. No pats on the back from me, they will be back for more in a few months.

(27,670 posts)measures* mean in reality?
It could be nothing, or it could be some type of unreasonable delay in the ACA application process and complete implementation of the ACA.

We STILL don't have this thing won. These assholes will do everything they can to rise again. They haven't seen the light. They haven't seen the error of their ways. They think they're "right." And they STILL think they're entitled to get their way. They don't seem to understand why the vast majority of Americans don't agree, and they think they still need to convince us. They're out of their fucking MINDS. And they won't come around anytime soon - simply because they don't think there's any need to. When you think you're "right," then you have no reason to make room for anyone else who disagrees with you.
They haven't had any "come to Jesus moment." No need for any such thing in their twisted, distorted, myopic worldview. They still believe Jesus already came to them.

(107 posts)They gave the repugs a piece of obamacare, they will be back for more extorision in a few months.
A clean bill or no bill.
According to the latest deal:
It also would set up budget negotiations between the House and Senate for a long-term spending plan, and would include a provision to strengthen verification measures for people seeking government subsidies under Obama's signature health care reforms.
So the dems caved in, making obamacare harder to apply for, slowing it down so repugs can come back in a few months and finish it off.

(309 posts)The verification changes simply tighten up the existing language and will not hold up any applications at all.
The budget negotiations are what Democrats have been trying to get since MArch, so that's a GOP cave into Democratic demands.
So really, this is a huge win.
