And holding firm on "entitlement reform" ... And Reid mentioned a committee that "everyone" will have to give something despite their "deeply held" beliefs ... ie - the working poor are going to get fucked even further.

I'm sick of this love fest I want to thank this person I want to thank that person. This isn't the academy awards the political divide is still deep and I have a feeling we will be right back here soon.

They need to salvage the situation before a credit rating drop costs trillions and they need to restore some confidence in the future path forward, a solution to the Congressional impass.

"The damage goes beyond the hundreds of thousands of workers furloughed .... beyond the anxiety of many who are dependent on many government programs ... goes to something far more fundamental, if the people of this country can have confidence in our ability ...." Collins

Hopefully "..the end of a very unfortunate chapter in American history."

I know they have to say these nice things. But all I can think is that in a few months we will be back in the same situation for almost the exact same reasons.
