Because of Cruz and Lee, this is not over yet.

"Senate Republicans huddled Tuesday to discuss the latest on the fiscal crisis engulfing the Capitol, but two key members of their conference were missing from the lunch: Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah."

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/10/ted-cruz-mike-lee-gop-lunch-98342.html#ixzz2htmf9NGW

Maybe they split town. Maybe they're hunkering down with Heritage Action to plan a filibuster.

But nothing is over until we know what these two assbags are planning today.

And the Brothers Koch will be supporting the real "primarying"...for non TPers. I imagine they are not terribly amused at the investment return from the Teddy and Mikey Show. They have exercised the proverbial power of The Hook...off Stage Left.

Probably be awhile before he gets a committee assignment...like he's been there a few months and has only accomplished making a fool of himself, a mockery of The House, taking us all to the brink of financial irresponsibility.

This has badly damaged the Tea Party brand. No more throwing good money after bad for the institutional investors.

direction out of political necessity, are looking for a way out and the Cruz Circus has been sorely damaged. People/funds flock behind winners, not losers. Members of The House have political and personal egos. And a Senator just manipulated the entire House into looking like buffoons, and its leader to the annals of historical failure. Cruz, if anything, will be a footnote, IMO.

To loosely quote Harry Reid, "it's now up to the adults in the Senate."

Obama look presidential, irresolute, and a big winner. Before a few Rs mostly backtracked and suggested it was a fool's battle that could not be won. Before 75% of Americans thought they were acting like fools...and in the end they proved them right.

I could be wrong or engaged in wishful thinking...wouldn't be the first time for either, but this old-fashioned, smokey back room deal-making or 21 hour pontificating just doesn't have the charm it once did. Time will tell.

to acquire...while whipping up the House as his private posse...matters. I think it will be a cold day in hell before he gets a committee assignment. Big Money is shedding the taint of the TP. It made them, and it can break them. Not immediately of course, but 75% of Americans said No.

Also, Newt is pissed at them...as per CNN.

Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behavior, and, with the Concurrence of two-thirds, expel a Member.

Make it happen.

thus unanimous consent isn't required in the Senate.

Cruz and Lee will have no way to stop it.

Well, no way that is foreseeable at the moment unless they come up with some outrageous maneuver nobody's thought of yet...

But even if the House acted first and the Senate took up the House bill, it still would require a unanimous consent vote in the Senate.

I demanded that anybody stupid enough to object to unanimous consent or to mount a filibuster at this late date must be expelled by the Senate. I told them both that I am certain at least 67 Senators should be able to agree that people this stupid should not be members of the Senate.

Both offices agreed with me.
