“It’s all over. We’ll take the Senate deal,” says a senior GOP aide.

“It’s all over. We’ll take the Senate deal,” says a senior GOP aide. Senator Mitch McConnell’s office quickly noted to reporters that the Kentucky Republican would be taking back the lead.

A key moment in the fight came when Heritage Action announced it was “key voting” against the bill. Support was already flagging, and the decision made up the minds of many members sitting on the fence.

“People are thinking about primaries, they really are,” says a GOP chief of staff.

McConnell's positino is weaker now than it was before Boehner pulled his stunt.

That's got to burn Yurtle's ass. Gotta love it when they eat each other.

That alone should get them out of office for not doing their job FIRST.

I missed the first half of the CNN report - I heard Dana Bash say "take out the union piece."

What are we (possibly) giving up here?

The "union piece" refers to a provision of the Senate deal that delays the coinsurance tax, which is a small tax that unions have to pay under the ACA. That's a provision that's favorable to Dems, given in exchange for the stronger identity checks for ACA subsidies for the Reepers.

I assumed that's what Dana Bash was talking about, but I missed half the conversation.

I'm disgusted - I don't want the DEMS to reward the crazies with ANYTHING for this 2 week jaunt down the rabbit hole.

The reinsurrance fee never seemed unreasonable to me. It's a pay for to cover the extra sick people that will come onto plans.

The GOP wants us to all be without insurance, begging at the ER and church steps for medical care.

whether that remains in the Senate's deal tomorrow. The House screwed McConnell with their epic fail, putting the R's in an even weaker bargaining position. So the deal may be different tomorrow. My hope: Clean CR, clean DL, nothing else. We win. They get nothing for this ignorant, destructive tirade. Nothing.

16. Keyvoting
Tue Oct 15, 2013, 10:49 PM

Heritage Action, a tea party watchdog group, keeps track of how GOP congresscritters vote -- to make sure they're as tea-party-ish as possible. If a critter doesn't toe the line, they actively search out tea party candidates to oppose them in the primary and help to fund their campaigns. If there's a bill that they really don't like, Heritage Action will let the critters know that how they vote on that bill will be considered a "key vote" in their decision whether or not to "primary" them. After the House bill was released this afternoon, Heritage Action tweeted the GOPers and let them know that the correct vote on the bill was "NO," and that is was a "key vote" -- i.e., they "keyvoted" today's House bill.
