The Teabaggers who are holding America hostage while they continue their toddler temper tantrum over implementation of the ACA have lost all credibility. And if they continue past the debt ceiling deadline this week, they may lose more than their veiled pretense of representing TRUE American values.
They can no longer pretend to care about the citizens they want to “save” from the horrors of affordable health insurance. The sequester thus far has had a much greater negative economic impact than any financial consequence of enacting those irksome ACA provisions they so greatly fear and despise. American are suffering. Veterans are suffering. 800,000 furloughed government employees are suffering. Cancer patients are suffering. The list goes on and on.
The Teabaggers just don’t care about actual American people. It’s that simple.
However, up until their latest wittle baby fit, they seemed to care about their corporate masters; it’s here their infantile myopia gets a little dangerous. Big Business and the Big Banks want them to end this madness before it costs them another lost dollar, but these Teabaggers are stuffing their pudgy fingers in their ears and ignoring the “suggestions” of their Godfathers.
Wayne Madsen for Press TV reports:
“The Tea Party Republicans are playing a game of Russian roulette with the entire US economy, with US government,” Wayne Madsen, investigative journalist, author, and syndicated columnist to Press TV on Monday.
“These people are really anarchists from the Right wing, extreme right wing. So, as long as they’re being listened to and they are holding hostage Speaker of the House John Boehner … we may see the US come close to a default on its credits,” he said.
Madsen said the two-week long government shutdown “has (even) resulted in China and other countries warning the US not to play with this kind of fire.”
Leaders at World Bank and International Monetary Fund meetings on Sunday warned that the United States must raise its debt ceiling and reopen its government or risk “massive disruption the world over,” as Christine Lagarde, the IMF’s managing director, put it.
Ouch. Seems a bit foolish to piss of the IMF or the World Bank, not to mention the big players in the US. Do you imagine the brothers Koch like being ignored? By the likes of smirking Ted Cruz? (just an aside, does every Texas Neocon politician smirk? Is there a special school for that? Inbreeding, maybe? But I digress . . . ) These are some powerful enemies. The disaster they’re flirting with is pretty huge.
And it gets worse. If these recalcitrant rug-rats allow the US government to default on it’s debt this week, nobody is going to want to play with them anymore. Not the IMF or the World Bank, or Citibank or Walmart . . . . . .They’ll lose all their toys and their TV privileges. Probably their pudding, too.
And that might be the best outcome of all.
