Government has a bad name because Republicans give it a bad name. I don't know why we let any of them in the WH.

allowing inferiority complex to drive your thinking, and the leaders down South understands this better
than anyone else and uses it to its fullest.

Hell, I've run into people who say Obama pulled out of Iraq to START a war in Afghanistan and he's invaded Pakistan too.

He's also why Miss America is an Arab.

Oh,...and of course...

It all started when they shutdown the government because they cannot come to an agreement on how to spend the imaginary money we don't have.

The Senate Democrats and Obama didn't kowtow to their demands, so it's their fault of course.

They should demand extensive climate change legislation or gun control or.... be tied to reopening the government/raising the debt ceiling. It would certainly help point out the absurdity of the whole situation. They should also remind people that the Republicans are not exactly the party to being fiscal responsibility to the Government. Last time they had control they took a great situation where we were actually paying off the debt to driving us off a fiscal cliff.

One of my favorite activities... talking to a Republican about how Obama screwed us by piling o the debt by bailing out the stupid banks. Go on and on with them on this for 5min or so... then go ... oh wait that was a Republican president that did that... . Not that it ever does any good, but it is lots of fun.

. . . such "greatest hits" as:

-- "Get a brain, morans!"

-- "Keep your Government Hands Off My Medicare!"

-- "We had to destroy the village in order to save it."

(An oldie but goodie. Classic summation of the paradoxical, fascist mind-set. See next item below.)

-- "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."

(Orwell said it, but knowledge-hating tea-baggers and their ilk believe this slogan to be the height of wisdom.)

-- "America--love it or leave it!"

(When Republicans are in charge, that is. Then dissent = treason. When Democrats or independents are in charge, dissent = patriotic duty.)

-- "Republicans are for state's-rights driven smaller government!"

You know, the kind that criminalizes sodomy. (Anal or oral sex with either gender. A wifely-delivered, err . . . "French pleasuring"--or husbandly returning of same--constituted felonious behavior not so very long ago. And will soon again, perhaps--in the state of Virginia--which is for lovers . . . ) And sues local municipalities to overturn prudent gun control laws. And suggests the forced vaginal wanding of women contemplating family planning measures. And engages in warrant-less wiretapping and e-mail reading. And the launching of extended wars without Congressional approval. And the subsidizing with federal tax-payer monies of (certain privileged) religious schools and institutions. You know, "smaller government" like that . . .

It is "of a piece" with their past actions and pronouncements.
