We are a sick sick country when the vulnerable can be trashed and so many Americans not only support but laud cruelty, sadism and hate. It feels like the country is disintegrating in so many ways. Recent events where outright racism is open and unchallenged is a disgrace to the country.

Until we begin to challenge and confront such abhorrent behavior it will only get worse. The President did not cause this shutdown.
