I've been hearing these meme more and more, especially in relation to LGBT rights - "I'm against it because I have Values!"
My first reaction is "so you're saying that I DON'T have any values?". My second thought is "well, if you don't see how you are advocating stepping all over someone's rights, then your Values are all screwed up!"
Has anyone else run into this "Values" meme?

(13,062 posts)1. sure they have values. But their values are wrong.
even Nazis had values, so they're not making much of an argument...
I've found fundamentalists are immune to reasoned argument, or even coherent thought. They seem to follow the Martin Luther line:
"Faith must trample under foot all reason, sense, and understanding."

"My holy book approves of some bigotry so how can it be wrong?"
