The Motivation of the Tea Party

I stumbled on an article from 3 days ago (hopefully it hasn't been posted 1000x already), which discusses the motivation that the Tea Party members have, to do the things that they are doing. It boils down to a desperate, and likely hopeless attempt to keep the U.S. in the hands of those that "deserve it"; in other words, stopping anyone who isn't white, isn't Christian, isn't straight and isn't a man from running the country. It sounds obvious but this article is good at digging deeper into the motivation besides some good ol' fashioned racism.
