Yes ... You Can Always Go Home.

Yesterday I was assisting one of the 2 candidates running for Mayor of my city. He is also a Democrat.

I had been helping him out earlier in the campaign but then my wife insisted I finish up my CDL so I had to take a break. I jump back in where I left off last week.

Anyhow yesterday I went out door belling with him and the neighborhood we went to I had no idea where we were going nor did he have a clue I once lived there, in fact it was the first place I lived when my parents moved the family there 47 years ago.

So we went up and down streets with flyers and I had the honor of telling him a bit of my memory's and storys of who lived where and bits about them. Then we went around the corner and there was my boyhood home of 5 years, the people that live there show likely democrats on walking sheets. He joined me as I knocked on the door. I told him in 2 minutes about my memory's.

It was a very humbling moment for both of us. He said if I decide to run for office I should announce to the media on the street right in front of that house.

Yes you can go home again.

I agree that you should announce in front of your childhood home...

It will show that you have deep roots in the community...

The idea of knowing the history of a place, and participating in it's present and future. Thanks for telling us about this.
