IRS Extension Deadline - Next Tuesday!

For those who filed for an extension on your 2012 federal taxes, the deadline for filing is October 15, 2013...next Tuesday. Don't forget.

Just sent my 1040 and other forms off this morning. With a check I can't really afford to write. The joys of self-employment, I guess.

Then he asked me if I wanted proof of mailing. I told him, "Nah...I figure you can get this to that post office box OK. There's probably a groove in the road leading to it."

I'm self employed as well. I could have blown that off FOREVER! I actually have the bucks this year but force of habit stalled me.

I got a lower adjusted gross income than I expected (had a lot of moving expenses, almost continuously on the road). Ended up getting half of it back with the subsidy.

Most people deal with the taxman only once a year. We get to do it four or five times.
