Would it be more popular than it is now?
Or would it give the GOP the time needed to kill it?
Or would it give the supporters time to fix it?
Under no circumstances should it cost more than insurance companies are presently charging, as some people are suggesting. If people do not want the extended coverage, dental and vision, etc, then they should not be required to take it.
However, the idea that you cannot lose your insurance because of an existing condition or that you might have a lifetime limit, and that you might lose your house and all your life savings without the ACA, sounds like a pretty good idea...

(30,742 posts)quit their jobs and start their own businesses. It would delay a lot of startups.
That says nothing about the people who have had no insurance for some time, and are terrified. They are starting to breathe easier for the first time in years.
No one should have their insurance coverage put on hold for another year. People will die.

(5,756 posts)Then make it a faux election issue. Not a good idea at all.
People need to be signing up and seeing what it will do for their premiums. Whether that is raise or lower them.

Don't fall for the othersides arguments
They just want to delay in the hopes of winning a Majority in both houses next year and voting to repeal it.
That is their idea of "fixing" it

I'm no fan of the Wealthcare and Profit Protection Act but am even more against rolling for bullies. Thus, I have been pretty well triangulated into supporting a bad law to stave off much worse outcomes if we play the game.

(4,191 posts)and it will cost them elections. They just want to delay to past the 2014 election. Look at how many stories there are on DU about people that were Rs and initially against the ACA who are now for it. I personally know someone that was a dedicated R and just retired early and now wonders why we can't all just get Medicare. It's a game changer for the Rs. Plus, since it's some sort of federal program, people that sign up are also given the opportunity to register to vote, which Rs hate. The ACA is their doom and they know it, that's why they're willing to destroy the world economy over it.

(13,452 posts)If people did wait until next year, we'd need that money. So, if they sign up and pay -- fine. If they don't sign up and pay -- next year they get charged double plus interest.
Sound okay Mr. B?
No!? I gather the idea is to destroy Health care for more people. No compromising on that!
Forty to fifty thousand Americans each year. I hope they all haunt you Mr. B.
