@DollyParton:
I do not sit in the seat of judgment... I love people for who they are. We're all God's children!

Yeah... I'm a Tennessee girl - born about 40 minutes from where Dolly was, so I follow her, even if I'm not particularly a country fan. She's awesome.

(111,098 posts)I grew up about 15 miles on the other side of Cumberland Gap and I used to stay overnight at my Grandma's house because she had a TV and I knew that Dolly would come on the Cas Walker Show real early in the morning and she would sing behind her uncles, the Brewster Brothers. I was about 10 or 12 years old.
Of course, we could only pick up one channel, WATE-TV, out of Knoxville. I would get chills when she sang. I knew she was special.

(17,111 posts)First it was subsumed in Tweener music. Now she's rebelling. Duh! Miley is just 20 with megamoney. It's not like she is the only one ever to make shocking and/or questionable decisions.
Madonna wasn't exactly a shrinking violet.
I'm not saying she is on par with Madonna.
Hopefully, she will become someone who is not mostly a caricature trying to shock. Maybe we will see Destiny Hope "Miley" Cyrus at some point and find out who is beneath all that schtick. It may be closer to Dolly in some ways than we think. She certainly is a supporter of LGBT rights.

(17,111 posts)She needs to move to Nashville and turn it upside down. That would be the biggest tremor since Tanya Tucker let loose.
She'd make Taylor Swift look superficial.
