I am almost completely overcome with the desire to...

...find a babysitter for Lola, hop in the car, drive to DC, flip a smiling middle finger at however many Derptastic Trucker Revolutionary Derps are still on the Beltway, find a parking space, and throw a bag of live rats through this motherfucker's office window.

Fuck these people with a radioactive hammerhead shark.

Yoho: Furloughed Federal Workers Shouldn't Get Back Pay
TPM

Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL) said Thursday that furloughed federal workers shouldn't get back pay once the government shutdown ends, even though he voted for a bill to provide it less than a week ago.

I get the strong impression that the GOP really didn't expect the shutdown to go the way it has, and now they're tripping over their on turds as they flail around trying to find a new direction to go in. Farting and pointing at the dog didn't work so well. Dems didn't give in, and it's pretty obvious why they really can't do that, but the Repubs didn't predict it and didn't plan for it.

I'm not sure whether Obama played "11-dimensional chess" with this one or got incredibly lucky, but it couldn't be worse for the GOP. Boehner says Obama is trying to destroy the GOP and perhaps he's right - Republicans have been trying to destroy the Democrats forever - but Obama just took the gun that the Republicans handed to him, handle first, and shot it.

However I wouldn't throw rats at him, rats are too nice. A bag of medical waste would be more appropriate.
