3. Damn, I just installed chrome on my mac now that Camino has been EOL'd...

... and isn't supported by youtube, or so many other things that google controls now.

As for mail, I'd find a service that you pay for instead of being ad supported. I have one that I've had for years and I think you have a bit more control over how your user profile is being used if you go that route.

their iron fisted grip on our government.

I have no suggestions for an online email box that is not controlled by the evil ones.

I do suggest that everyone start preparing themselves to engage in a coordinated widespread general strike/boycott/Occupy action in protest of corporate control of our government at some point in the future.

6. oh Duh....I have that, did not think to use a 2nd account.

I have Opera mail linked to my Linux Evolution personal account, the email only for friends and family.
I can just as easily open a 2nd account strictly for online stuff only, and dump gmail.
