Desperate Republicans want the President to give them an extension on hostage taking.

House GOP Waiting On Obama After Submitting New Debt Limit Plan

House Republicans submitted a new plan for raising the debt limit to President Barack Obama Thursday at 10 p.m., and are awaiting a response, according to Politico.

The latest proposal would raise the debt ceiling through Nov. 22 and fund the government until Dec. 15, Politico reports. This would then prompt budget talks in aims of reaching a broader deal on spending and debt.

Republican leaders in the House met with Obama Thursday evening, but did not reach a concrete deal during those talks.

Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will meet with Senate Republicans Friday morning. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has given the go-ahead to Republican senators who want to work toward a deal, according to the Huffington Post.

Look, Mr. President, help us out here. We need more time to hold the country hostage and threaten to blow up the economy.

They have to drop the gun and kick it over to the officer; they cannot just tuck it back into the waist-band and drape a shirt-tail over it.

The debt ceiling must be raised by an amount sufficient to ensure it the next Congress which must vote to raise it, and the continuing resolution must be for the full fiscal year --- neither can have any condition attached.

Another favorite Grant Quote that also applies to this scenario.

"No other terms than unconditional and immediate surrender. I propose to move immediately upon your works."

Isn't the debt ceiling a dollar amount? Are they saying it increases as needed until November 22? What can we prepay?

Date figures are based on Treasury estimates of what must be raised in coming weeks or months to cover expected outlays. So it would be raised by a dollar figure equal to what the guess is would have to be spent by a given date.

It is the Senate they need to work with, not Obama.

The President will lose this battle based on the dates alone. Imagine, "refusing to negotiate" on Thanksgiving, then again on Christmas.

Frankly, they just took another hostage...peaceful, family gatherings, people who can't fly home, no money for gifts, the Holiday Feasts are expensive, cable news will have fodder beyond their wildest dreams.

And since we couldn't even get across the message the Republicans didn't show up 21 or so times since March and, no, it's not both sides...not even..and that this thing was planned and in writing?

Democrats did not cause the shutdown. But aren't we so lucky that Mr. McConnell is so gracious as to send those "who want to work toward a deal".

limit.

Did they listen? No. They are now negotiating for another hostage they plan to take.

The president and Harry Reid must stand strong and say NO. NO negotiating on raising the debt limit.
