I was channel-surfing cable news this morning and caught part of a Fox & Friends report saying that their reporter checking staging areas for the protest had seen only a couple of trucks there.
And this story from My Fox Atlanta reported a dozen trucks:

WASHINGTON -
A group of truckers who say they're fed up with the government say they plan to jam D.C.'s Capital Beltway this weekend in protest. Organizers say they expect thousands of drivers to bring their big rigs to Washington, but the "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" was off to a slow start on Friday morning.
Organizers say they're fed up with the government and new regulations on their industry. They say roughly 10,000 truckers are expected to participate through the weekend in what will be a peaceful protest around the D.C. area.
Organizers say the protest was scheduled before the government shutdown happened, and it was scheduled to make a point to Congress. Earlier this week, Earl Conlon of Blairsville, Ga. told FOX 5 he was helping organize the event.
The first wave of trucks was seen passing through Woodbridge, Va. after 7 a.m. Friday, with about a dozen truckers passing. Organizers say it will pick up as rush hour approaches, and continue through the weekend. They say truckers are making the trip from two directions: one to the south in Virginia, and another to the north in Pennsylvania. When they arrive in D.C., organizers say they'll circle the Beltway by the thousands.

http://www.wjla.com/articles/2013/10/truckers-ride-for-the-constitution-set-for-friday-morning-95207.html
By about 8:45 a.m., Virginia State Police officials said that about 30 tractor trailers left a stop in Dumfries at about 7:30 with plans to head toward Washington. Meanwhile, in Dumfries, 15 more were spotted bearing the official Twitter hashtag of the ride - #T2SDA.
Police officials say that at about 8:50 a.m., authorities stopped four trucks that were driving side-by-side across four lanes of traffic, slowing the commute in the area to about 15 mph.
The truckers were not ticketed, but law enforcement officers warned them not to impede traffic. Despite the stop, a VSP spokesperson says the convoy hasn't caused any major hangups or incidents.

Basically reporting the same story as posted above -- the truckers got a warning after four trucks tried slowing down traffic to 10-15 mph.
