The American Conservative: Throw Tea-Party "Kamikaze-Cons" into Mount Doom

From, of all places, "The American Conservative":

". . . on the implacability of the House's kamikaze-cons . . . "

". . . Why are Republicans inflicting real, immediate, and tangible harm on the economy in order to accomplish the impossible (delay or defund Obamacare) address an abstract future threat (debt) or merely to save face? Why isn’t the majority of the House majority isolating its rightmost faction and ending this pointlessly asinine pissing match?"

"Contra the conventional wisdom, I maintain that no one in leadership will lose his job. The very nature of Tea Party opposition, whether it issues from the likes of Bazooka Ted and His Gang in the Senate or the unappeasable Jacobins in the House, is to throw weight without consequence. They evince no interest in actually wielding power from the inside, which would require restraint, conciliation, and moderation. They are hysterics on the brink of utter demoralization. The danger they pose to democratic norms, institutional comity, and political functionality is precisely why they can’t be bargained with; they must be marginalized."

Now that "Tea Party" has overstayed it's welcome, maybe the GOP should try some re-branding.

"Kamikaze-cons", "Kamakazecans", or "Banana Republicans"?

It sounds like The American Conservative has become a place where liberals can go to have serious discussions with sane conservatives. That's worth keeping in mind.

They let this go on, as well as lobbying for 'starving the beast' and not paying any taxes destroying the social safety net and public safety. They benefitted from the worst war profiteering in history, and cheered the destruction of health care since Reagan.

While I find this interesting, as well as the part that you emphasized:

They evince no interest in actually wielding power from the inside, which would require restraint, conciliation, and moderation. They are hysterics on the brink of utter demoralization.

What exactly is it they think they are losing now? How long does it take to awaken a conscience, or as Wise said of "liberals" who support the Pauls:

Exactly when does one become too much of an evil fuck even for you? Inquiring minds seriously want to know.

http://www.timwise.org/2012/01/of-broken-clocks-presidential-candidates-and-the-confusion-of-certain-white-liberals/

At which point, after over a generation was made love to by Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter and Ayn Rand, did they sense the majority of Americans had been screwed without the kiss while they paid for demagoguery and enjoyed the spoils of dismantling it while they attacked the New Deal as communist?

Can't feel any 'comity' with a group that has done this, has stayed silent during the mandates passed for the forcible rape by objects of women in state after state for daring to assert their right as individuals to say when they will be mothers. And has gone hell bent for leather to destroy schools and every other instrument that was designed to unite Americans and keep peace and harmony among all.

The hated 'liberals' have always been for lifting up and giving a chance to the disadvantaged by history and by which conservaives were advantaged socially and financially directly by oppression for centuries. Now the plantation owners want to deny the vote as they did from the start of the nation, stealing the fruit of the labor of millions.

The GOP was once seen as representing a difference of opinion on how to achieve those goals. They sought to give equality to a rural type of American mindset, yet abused every New Deal to enrich themselves and to abuse the people in those areas, too.All for profit.

In the past, the Birchers were kept outside as a fringe group to inflict insanity on the masses, while they played adult games in seats of power. Now they run the place and there is no end in sight.
It's not just about D.C. as these are home grown crooks who run their states like fiefdoms. It's all about allegiance to their church and business.

They have demanded the poor and the environment, and half the population (women) be damned. It has nothing to do with the equality that the flag they have waved so long and hidden behind represent. They are heirs of the hated plantation system and want it restored so much, they didn't speak up against the more rhetoric of colorful, vitriolic groups.

Like the Paulites, Tenth Amendment and Second Amendment Solution gangsters. And they looked the other way on the KKK and Nazis and David Dukes, too.

Not to mention, they took over the media to bring America to the brink of Idiocracy. They are not benign observers.

But a good OP, interesting, well written and linked, and I certainly enjoyed that first comment about the TP and teabaggers. That is exactly what happened. They are scum, through and through.

JMHO.
