That was my point. We've never passed "healthcare". We've passed a scheme to to funnel private and government money into private enterprise.

So, "You'll never pass healthcare" is correct.

... with the GOP, and the absurdity of the GOP's current complaints that the President isn't willing to negotiate. That comment certainly could have been stated more accurately, but I didn't misrepresent anything. And irrespective of the inaccuracy of the comment itself, its larger point stands. Sorry you failed to grasp that.

I thought it was to show that they are complaining about Obama not wanting to negotiate when it is plain they have had their minds made up from the get-go and it will stay that way no doubt forever.

He sees no value in negotiating and playing games with them.

It's buy minimal insurance if you have the financial means or pay an alternative tax. Not buy insurance no matter your financial means or go to jail. This argument has already been settled.

And "under penalty of law" certainly makes it sound like there are criminal penalties.

If it makes you feel better, instead of thinking of the alternative payment as a "tax penalty" for not buying insurance when you can afford it, think of NOT having to pay the alternative payment as a tax credit for doing something to offset the government's cost of healthcare.

But as I said, this has already been settled, so your talking point is out of date.
