Science is Awesome!!!

Watched Science Channel today. And learned that the earth's mantle has in it 10-12 times the amount of water the earth's surface does. If that water were to somehow make it to the surface, the water levels of the earth would go up by 2miles.

Learned that the polarity of the earth's electromagnetic field changes a lot, not recently of course, but it's gearing to do so. The reason they know is because in a stretch of the Atlantic Ocean near Brazil the field is simply not there, and they have also found rocks by drilling that have never been magnetized, meaning that they were formed at time where the field was shifting polarity or it wasn't present. Also some astronauts that traveled to space were exposed to areas in space where the field was so weak that they could see radiation flashes even with their eyes closed. 34 or so of these astronauts later developed severe cataracts.

Learning of what science is capable of is inspiring, and also saddens me. For there people that are trying to negate science, trying to negate the progression of man kind.
