Given how many people are currently on a ship, how many ships are currently sailing around the world at this very minute and the repeat factor being well over 95% of cruise passengers, your comments are not exactly all that accurate. As a fan of cruising (big ships, small ships, whatever) and someone who has from time to time worked in the cruise industry, I can assure you that PLENTY of people would gladly hop on a cruise and plenty more are having a blast doing so.

And as for the "news of so many ocean liners having issues"- how many really were there with "issues" compared to how many ships and cruises there are annually?

How many hotel fires or "incidents" happen that are never reported? Does that stop people from wanting to stay at a hotel?

Cruises are usually a great value (in this economy that's a great thing), a wonderful way to see the world and offer amazing vacation opportunities.
