House GOP's Next Move: ZOMBIE SUPERCOMMITTEE!

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/house-gop-s-next-move-zombie-supercommittee

The next move for House Republicans in the government shutdown/debt ceiling fight is asking for a bicameral, bipartisan committee to hash out a deal to raise the debt ceiling, in exchange for spending reforms. A similar group created by the 2011 Budget Control Act failed to craft a long-term deficit reduction deal that both sides found desirable.

it's just a more formal way for them to ask for cuts to SS and Medicare while not increasing revenue.

They want to have their cake and eat it too.

and of course they want Obama to be the one to propose any changes to SS and Medicare so they can attack him for it in 2014.

This is the time to draw the line, call their bluff, or they'll get away with it in the future.

Seeing as tax cuts are the biggest cause of the deficit maybe we should start there instead. Then we can move to things like reducing spending on the petrochemical industry and military.
