Honest question: What is Boehner's plan?

1. So, he refuses to bring the Senate's clean CR up for a vote.
2. At the same time, the democrats refuse to go to conference with the shutdown as a pre-condition on the table.
3. Republicans take a beating in the polls.

What exactly is Boehner's master-plan to victory?

Does he want to prolong the shutdown until democrats cave?
The fronts are hardened. The side to give up first will look like losers. Is Boehner calculating that the democrats will do the "right" thing, unaware to the consequences?

Does he want to prolong the shutdown until republicans revolt against him and the Tea Party?
Is he doing the Tea Party's bidding to give them enough rope to hang themselves with?
Does he want to remove the cancer within the republican party with a chain-saw?
Is he a noble hero, sacrificing himself (and torturing a whole nation along the way) to give the republican party a fresh start?

I think, he's waiting.
He's waiting for Obama and Reid to pitch him an offer that would allow him to backstab the Tea Party and to look like a Tea Party hero at the same time.

He's waiting for somebody to come up with a solution for the grid-lock he upholds. (As long as this solution includes saving his ass.)

and neither do the Republican's. They are like a 2 year old throwing a fit, after a little while they completely forget what they are crying about.

He has no plan. All he has is desperation while he clings to his Speaker's gavel.

them. The TP's are bullies. They need to stand up to them and make them impotent. It's the TP's that is bringing the Repugs down and as long as they play footsy with them - they and Boehner will be in this bind. What I'm worried about is if they don't deep six the TP's that the TP's will only be embolden by their actions. I know that Boehner and other Repugs are worried that they will be primaried by the TP's. IMHO if the TP's are embolden by how this is playing out - they will go for even more of a power grab and still primary many vulnerable Repugs and gain even more control. The TP's need to be stopped now. Boehner needs to use the Dems to help him do that. Pass a clean CR. Raise the debt ceiling. Keep TP's out of any future negotiations and just ignore them.

Like any bully - one needs to stand up to them. The time to stand up to them is now - before it's too late and they gain even more power.
