pedestrians. Or people walking their dogs.
Yesterday coming to work--it was still dark and raining--I rounded a curve and saw a man walking a bicycle, coming toward me.
He was on the road (two-lane) and luckily there was nobody in the other lane so I was able to avoid him.
People, if you're going to be walking, bicycling, etc., please wear some kind of reflective clothes or something. It's very hard
to see you, and if the driver is distracted, well....

(17,064 posts)a cyclist whizzed across the intersection in the crosswalk. He had the light, but he didn't sloww and check for turning cars, etc....just blasted across. No lights, no reflectors, dark clothing....I guess he was on a suicide mission.
Yea, peeps....use some common sense.

(45,319 posts)My car was struck the other day in broad daylight by an SUV the size of a small hotel. I was laying on my horn yet the driver of the vehicle did not listen and I could see the back of her head in the rear view mirror, she was not even glancing as she put her foot to the floor to back a building out of a parking space. No reflective tape would have been noticed by this negligent and entitled driver.
If I had been on a bike or on foot, she would have killed me. The driver's reaction was one of impunity as if it was wrong for me to hold her to account for driving like a drunk at 10 am.
