Attack Satellites?

MEDIUM EARTH ORBIT (MEO)
Typical Uses: Weather Satellites, Observation, spy satellites and various attack satellites
Most of the satellites in medium Earth orbit circle the planet at an approximate altitude of 6,000 to 12,000 miles, in an elliptical orbit around the poles. Any orbit that circles around the poles is referred to as a "polar orbit." Polar orbits have the advantage of covering a different section of the Earth's surface as they circle the planet. As the earth rotates, satellites in polar orbits can cover the entire surface of the earth, or - depending on their speed - cover the same geographical areas repeatedly. Fewer satellites are required to create coverage for the entire earth, as these satellites are higher and have a larger coverage area. Spy satellites typically use medium earth, polar orbits to cover as much surface as possible from a single satellite. Basically, as these satellites maintain standard orbit patterns, the Earth rotates beneath them, constantly exposing new areas for their missions to spy on or attack every country, while disrupting aircraft, RADAR and other communications.

Fireflies by Adam Young (Owl City). No, they're not unusual. He's an insomniac.

When I first posted the information there was plenty of information on ATTACK SATELLITES available. Now, I cannot find any information on them; but Google has a funny satellite graphic at their search engine this week.
