Is there a rally at the national mall tomorrow?

I ask because apparently this is the new talking point of the tea party.. that WW2 vest were kept out of the mall but illegal aliens are going to be let in.
Unfortunately the details at the site seems sparse.
It seems there's a rally and it looks like it will be at the national mall. It could be right outside the mall on the street but I cant' find anywhere that says that.

The only news sites I could find are all the right wing bubble.
But seriously if true, this seems like at least a really bad PR move. So more info on this would be nice.

(130,908 posts)planners considering issues re: govt shut down, 'permit' requirement for march. Planner said they'd figure something out.
The Mall is a long 'park,' between the White House at 16th St. and Pennsylvania Avenue and Capitol Hill at about 1st Street. Meetings and gatherings along the Mall are common, and there are many streets adjacent to The Mall.
The vets were not kept out of the Mall, they were not permitted on the grounds of the WWII Memorial by Park Service police.

The national mall is part of the national parks service just like all the other (closed) national parks across the nation.

(130,908 posts)'The Mall' can't, practically, be shut down, imo. I used to live and work nearby, can't say right now what's happening cause I'm in a suburb, but I'm pretty sure the entire Mall and the cross streets within it are not shut down.
Permits for demonstrations is another thing.

(3,855 posts)I was thinking that since the national mall is considered a public space, the park itself doesnt' count the way monuments do.

Streets like 10th St. cross the Mall.

I hardly think the SEIU is in the business of distributing RW talking points.
Somewhere, something is fucked up. My Brother and Sister Veterans cannot go visit The Vietnam Wall. My Brother and Sister Veterans cannot go visit the WWII Memorial, even in their FUCKING WHEELCHAIRS, pushed by their handlers. Commissaries and PXes are closed. Active Duty servicemen and women are being forced to pay more for their groceries and necessities.
We've (or so I've read) been told that the Mall was closed because of the need to keep people from hurting themselves...
So who's going to be there tomorrow to keep the demonstrators from hurting THEMFUCKINGSELVES, I politely ask?

(2,679 posts)that's why the park services allowed the rally.
RW is so stuck on stupid. The People attending the rally were not illegal immigrants, they were Americans of Hispanic decent reminding us of what we should be working on instead of this repub shutdown and world economic ruin.
Also honor flights are still being honored. WWII vets coming to see the memorial are still allowed if it is with the honor flight.
As a military brat and being married to a retired US Navy Officer my hearts truly go out to the military families being hurt by the republican's shutdown.
But everyone's anger is mis-placed. Obama didn't close the parks. Obama didn't furlough all the currently furloughed. Obama didn't suspend death and survivor benefits to fallen military hero's. Obama didn't shutdown the government. The Republicans did. And it is on the hands of all republicans. The Crazy for being racist spoiled brats. The moderates for not stopping them. No matter if they were house repubs or senate repubs or even repub governors. All republicans are guilty and bare all the blame.
