Very BAD Joke. Really Wrong.

Why is the Republican base made up mainly of "old" people?

A: That is where you find the highest rates of dementia.

Told you it was bad.

very real and tragic issue. My great-aunt had Alzheimers, and it was *very* hard on everyone. (We were lucky - she was a very sweet person.)

But I still think it is funny. I think there was a time when "Republican" didn't mean what it does today, so maybe that is why the old people keep voting for them?

There are many layers in a joke, even a bad one.
