Sisters of Capitol Hill driver: She was 'fleeing' police out of fear

Video: Miriam Carey’s sisters, Amy Carey Jones and Valarie Carey, tell TODAY’s Matt Lauer that their sister was not delusional and never talked critically about President Obama. They believe Miriam was frightened after being surrounded by police near the White House last week and that her speeding off was a way to flee the confusion."

*They also confirmed that Miriam was being treated for postpartum depression, but said she was under doctor’s supervision and was in the process of being taken off her medication.

Beyond that, her mental capacity was fine, according to her sisters. Despite what authorities have said, their sister didn’t have a political agenda with the White House or anybody else, they said.

“She never talked badly about President Obama," ” Amy Carey Jones said. "She was not walking around delusional, which is what we want the public to understand. She was not delusional.”

and run over two officers trying to get away, I wouldn't have expected the Police to try to figure WHY she was running down people - I would expect the Police to stop her from getting back into that car once she got out of it.......

And to keep her away from any crowds in this age of suicide-bombing vests....

that sometimes surviving family members will deny their loved one had one, even though mental illnesses are just like any other illness - not a character flaw, not a moral weakness, but an illness that sometimes, just by its very nature, is difficult to manage.

did they are there to protect the president and law makers, not to be diplomats.
why did she go there of all places?

her mental capacity was fine, if she knew what she was doing that made her even more dangerous

the president and the lawmakers and they cant afford to fuck around with unknowns and they are not required nor should they be to take time to find out.
you have the luxury of already knowing that she was unarmed. this person who may or maynot be armed could have the car wired with fertilizer explosives and on a suicide mission.
they didn't take her out of the car and line her up against a wall after they unarmed her. if she stopped and got out, got on the ground she would only have been arrested

... but this was a reasonable response anywhere in the US.

Once you've tried to run over (read as murder) two police officers then you need to be stopped one way or another.
