History teaches us..

Lessons of history.

When will the American people realize there is a well-funded campaign of psychological warfare trying to turn the United States of America into the United Corporate States America? This campaign finds fertile ground with those that are deeply suspicious, fearful and resentful of changes in the make-up of America.

Certainly there can be principled differences of opinion leading to better policy, but this is not that.

This is a campaign of obstruction and misinformation with every conceivable effort being made to stir-up deep-seated resentments and prejudices. They have studied us well and know just what words and phrases to use and what fears to stoke, and they have no scruples preventing them from doing just that.

President Roosevelt recognized their tactics in 1944 when he said, during his reelection campaign:
“The opposition in this year has already imported into this campaign a very interesting thing... The technique was all set out in Hitler's book.... According to that technique, you should never use a small falsehood; always a big one, for its very fantastic nature would make it more credible -- if only you keep repeating it over and over and over again.”

In truth, there are no death panels in the healthcare bill and Obamacare is not “pulling the plug on grandma”; Obama is not a foreign-born, closet Muslim extremist who refuses to say the Pledge, “pals around with terrorists” and hates America; there are no UN troops in black helicopters about to confiscate our guns or cart us off to FEMA concentration camps; there is no danger of Sharia law being imposed; filling open vacancies on a court is not “court packing;” President Obama did not order the IRS to target or harass opposition groups; and Republicans did not lose the recent election because Obama or someone else in his administration deceptively changed the Benghazi talking points.

Nowhere do any of these things exist except in the minds of the far right who cannot accept the re-election of President Obama and will say and do what ever they can to destroy him even if they have to take the nation down in the process.

Earlier, in 1936, looking back over his first term Roosevelt, remembered it this way,

“We had to struggle with the old enemies of peace--business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering.
They had begun to consider the Government of the United States as a mere appendage to their own affairs. We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.”
Sound familiar?

And he added, “Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me--and I welcome their hatred.”
Now the same types aim to scare us, mislead us and frighten us into accepting a broken healthcare system, a rigged tax code, crumbling infrastructure, constant war, an impending environmental disaster and a lower standard of living. They are motivated by their unending quest for more power and wealth and their followers eagerly accept this because change is their biggest fear and the most visible symbol of that change is a man whose very name symbolizes the change they cannot accept and brings forth their deepest fears and loathing...President Barack Hussein Obama.
