They stand to make a fortune off this thing. Imagine, you create a crisis that sends stocks sharply lower. You control when the crisis starts and ends. Buy low and, when you've had your fill, call the crisis off.
And hey, why not invite your closest friends to join in to pad their pockets as well?
Don't forget to throw a few bones to your trained dogs in Congress.

(86,776 posts)answering to the brothers. Seems to be a rogue entity without actual gov't control given all the contractors and shills/liar (ie, Clapper for one) in alleged control of the agency. To extrapolate on that, for those who are skeptical about Snowden, maybe he's a Koch-shill to further disrupt the GP and foment ever more distrust..?
Not posing a firm stance either way as I think that what Snowden disclosed was of value to some extent but I can't help but wonder about a possible connection there.
