Which was the GOP demand, they would immediately re-neg on the agreement and demand full defunding of it or they will still bring the economy down.

Obama already agreed to their budget in return for not shutting the government down and look how well that turned out.

When you deal with people who have no honor or scruples the only thing you can do is refuse to deal with them and let the chips fall where they may.
Unfortunately this time the chips may all fall into a bottomless pit, never to be seen again.

It wasn't enough to get one or two cuts for them; they have to keep pushing for more cuts. Finally, the last time they pressured the Democrats for more cuts, some of them came out and said that we should eliminate taxes on the "job creators." You can't deal with assholes like that. All you can do is isolate them and do your best to take away their power. They declared war against the people a long time ago; it's time to fight it out and put them in their place.

The sick would still sign up in droves, but the healthy wouldn't. That would massively screw up the exchanges, allowing the Republicans to "prove" the ACA is a terrible idea that won't work.
