It is easier to ask forgiveness than permission

It is so much easier to say: "I'm sorry I called you a slut." Rather than saying: "Can I call you a slut on my National radio show and try to shame you into shutting up?"

Your "apology" is nothing of the kind. I sincerely hope your victim does not accept it, and if she does, I hope she accepts it in the manner it was proffered.

When I was a kid, I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord, in his wisdom, didn't work that way. So I just stole one and asked him to forgive me.
