and that is that even so-called "smart" people, (and don't get me wrong, he's nothing but a steaming pile of crap)don't know shit about shit. You would THINK, YOU WOULD THINK, that this asshole would know something about how even women's application of birth control WORKS...that it's NOT a condom or a Viagra pill method. But he doesn't...or at least he didn't (on second thought,I bet he does NOW) and this points out just how ignorant many many many people are of subjects which go beyond their own sprere or worklife. "The Days of the Renaissance Man is (sic) past" saith one teacher of mine many many years ago and he was rightola. Jesus H. Christ, everyone is now, thanks to the Internet and aggressive behavior, a version of Cliff the Postman from Cheers - a know-it-all who got everything wrong, but sounded authoritative.
in fact these people are SO insistent and SO "RIGHT" about EVERY FUCKING THING THAT THEY SAY, that they have people who KNOW BETTER questioning their own judgment and knowledge. In my own profession I have colleagues who say things for YEARS in their practices which are TOTALLY DEAD WRONG, havebeen KNOWN TO HAVE BEEN WRONG for decades, but you'd never freakin' know to hear them speak these untruths. And God knows how many people have "told" me what they "know" about my business never having studied it, never having practiced it, never ever treating a patient, never run an office, never triaged an emergency, never extracted a tooth...well, you get the point.
And all this is for people who at least THINK that they're familiar with a subject. How many times a day do we have to endure people who have not one iota of knowledge or sense about what they're pontificating upon, but, to use a TeeVee analogy, think that they know how the Law and the judicial system works because their parents watched every Perry Mason, Judd For The Defense, and The Defenders while they themselves played with Tinkertoys in the other room. The funny part of all that is that they themselves didn't even watch the shows, but listened, or half-listened to their parents talking about the shows. One guy who was quoting a Perry Mason to me swore that he saw the shows in the early 60's in color. I...don't...think...so. And he didn't even know who Lt. Tragg was and was SHOCKED to find out that Raymond Burr turned out to be a gay guy in real life. That was after I had to tell him that Raymond Burr WAS Perry Mason ON THE SHOW. This asshole didn't even realize THAT.
So everyone's an expert at everything and there's no talking, no 'splaining to them aobut anything, and so a Jerk like Limbaugh (if you call him 'Rush' then you're playing his game...he doesn't know YOUR name, so why call him by his first name...and BTW, he ain't eggsackly Cher or Madonna in the celebrity/talent pantheon, so screw him. Or don't...

Enumerating those possibilities is left as an exercise for the reader.
