More Of the Same Sick Southern Strategy

All these culture wars are just more of the same Southern Strategy made famous by Lee Atwater. Even the contraceptive fight is more dog whistle politics. Even though the main character in the latest brouhaha is white, the undercurrent is that the voters will be paying for minority contraceptive practices.

In the twisted mind of the GOP these latest cultural and racist wars are a way to victory with a fragmented electorate. There is nothing too preposterous to believe about the GOP. Through Rove himself they show that they are committed to being the only party in power. They are determined to have nothing but a conservative line for the country. And they are willing to turn the US government over to the churches as their booty in cooperating with the sacking of democracy.

What else can one conclude with the escalating racist and cultural attacks erupting in the national dialogue. They sow division and hatred everywhere they can in so many little ways. The GOP has really become a racist bigoted white supremacist theocratic party.

Now we have openly Nazi candidates like the one in Illinois who claims that the "Holocaust" was fiction. That fact that such evil people can even be on the ballot is an insult to Democracy.

Anyone who continues to vote GOP is no better. Now they are open about everything that they are there is an obligation to vote them out. There is an obligation to put an end to this fetid party as it stands now.

The largest question is why are they so willing to be so extreme openly? What are they up to when conventional political wisdom is that such stands are considered to be suicidal politically?

You are certainly correct. Atwater seemed to perfect that strategy and bring race baiting to a new level.

to Democracy. And an even greater testament will come when the miserable pig-fucker gets buried by a landslide of Biblical proportions!

when I looked aq the photo in the paper of the r's attending caucuses today, I applied their stated values to the people I was looking at. They are who they say they are - ugly in what they stand for.

I think they don't understand what kind of Pandora's box they've opened. When the Republicans fall, it will be speedier than we expected, just as the fall of the USSR was.

7. Too many people in the South are stupid enough to fall for it.

A generation of voting for republicans has gotten them nothing but farther behind democratic voting states. Education in their states habitually rank last or near last year after year. Stupid do as stupid do.

"leadership" to go further right every day.
The people who own the GOP have too much influence over the Democratic Leadership.
They have corrupted the Supreme Court and are in the process of extinguishing Democracy in favor of
AUTHORITARIAN theocracy devoted to subjugating everyone to the whims of the Economic Royals

Wow, kind of a sad and pathetic story. He sold his soul to the devil for money, power and corruption. That was a great documentary!

matter what they do God is on their side. In fact they see themselves as doing his will when they are acting so hateful - fighting evil you know. I wonder how many years they will continue to believe that their interpretation of Revelations may not be the correct one? How many years are they deliberately going to try to destroy our nation to fulfill their idea of what God wants.

Maybe that is what the GOP wants is weather Armageddon. The warmer the climate the bigger tornadoes. Heck just let then get two or three miles wide and run a couple hundred miles. Lets have 3 or 4 hundred of them all at once.
