Wackenhut Or Pinkerton Police And Fire Departments
The latest story about some counties in the UK turning over their police to a corporate bidder should alert the people that the GOP supports having private police and fire departments. It is something they will not run on openly. By depriving cities of funds privatization of common services will be the next thing after prisons.
What kind of country will we have if most of the commons are owned by private corporations? What kind of response will communities get when they are struck by natural disasters like the recent tornadoes? What kind of security will we get if our local security is run for profit?
The GOP seems to think that a free market police and fire fighting force is the way to go based on their attack on public employment and pensions. What kind of country will we have if corporations also run our elections? What kind of public service will we have if we end civil service and make public employment all patronage as the GOP is trying to do?
Just keep voting GOP and keep cutting taxes and the next policeman you see will be a minimum wage guard from Pinkerton or Wackenhut?
