If gasbag is the voice of the GOP base...

that tells us some interesting...and nauseating...things about our teabagging friends.

It's well known that Flush says the things that rank and file ditto heads think but don't dare say.

It's not difficult, then, to figure out what's really going on in the Ids of his loyal minions.

For one thing, they would seem to have a great desire to get away with hostile and aggressive acts that they would be unable to express in their daily lives. Most every limbag/Fux fan I've ever met have an immediate defense reaction when their media preference comes up in conversation. They hedge, they stutter, they lower their voices. Then they get louder and go on the offensive.

From this, we can surmise that they're embarrassed for a reason: They know they're outside of accepted social norms of respect, good fellowship, fairness and reason. Who wouldn't whisper when speaking of fandom for icons of hatred? They know what they are.

Flush's diatribe against Sandra Fluke is a wonderfully clear declaration of the minions' mindset.
In their minds, women are for sex--on their terms--and we (women) owe them. By defaming and dehumanizing Sandra Fluke, he threatens all women with humiliation and dehumanization. As Ms. Fluke herself said, this is yet another expression of a long history of patriarchy silencing women's voices.

He also sets the stage for a free conscience as The Reich takes away women's freedom to be a part of the body politik. After all, sluts and prostitutes are 2-dimensional figures, dressed in Victoria's Secret garb.

The regressives see women as not fully human. Their mental image of "Women" is limited to dick-stimulators or childcare matrons. How outdated; the old madonna/whore dualism. Such dualistic thinking leaves no room for considerations outside of the imagery; it leaves room only for contempt. Those who don't fit the stereotyped mold become invisible, and are expected to quietly remain so. Anyone who forces herself past the neanderthals' narrow visual field must be attacked.

If we are cardboard cutouts, we are nothing more than objects to be projected upon. Dehumanization is a vicious circle; the subconscious streams being projected at us are fueled by repeated outward expressions of revulsion, contempt, trivialization and just plain dislike. It's a reason for concern when we note the widespread incidence of woman bashing. Even the word "Douchebag", that word so beloved as an expression of utter disgust, is an example of socially acceptable loathing for the feminine.

Those who love limbag clearly have issues of hate and phobia for others unlike themselves. El rushbo's colossal shit-explosion has finally driven this festering sickness of repulsion for half the populace into the open, where it can be confronted. Perhaps it's a good thing, if we use it as an opportunity to always continue self examination and to insist that more people join us in the 21st century.

(I have some thoughts on women who tow the reich wing misogynistic line, but I haven't thought them out yet.)

...bizarre, but these women likely harbor a lot of hate and hostility. Exhibit A:

"harbor a lot of hate and hostility"

I'm thinking of a specific couple, big "christians", big Fux and Flush fans. The hate has to be deflected from themselves....really to be a woman in this society (most societies, really), you have to become skilled at managing self-loathing. Either you internalize, project or become aware and act against it.....and the response varies from moment to moment, and definitely during different phases in life.

The woman, who loved Fux, died last summer from a sudden, virulent inoperable brain tumor. Not that there's a connection between deeply repressed and denied hate and illness.... but it makes me wonder, are there any research projects on such a thing?

!

yes, there are SO many facets to think about and analyse.

The most important thing, I guess, is to see from such ugliness where we DON'T want to go...and then head in the direction we want....be more like what we admire.

More and more, ever more......

At the end of WWII, the Allied forces rolling through Berlin saw people, even still, standing in the rubble, waving Nazi flags......

there will always be those few people who will never evolve, in this lifetime anyway.

I think they're in desperate morality police control mode.

The puritanical-punishment-for-everyone-but-me faction is going into full-on limbic system/brain-stem meltdown from massive insults to their world view. They're not thinking out a rational response, they're going after their tried and true scapegoats.

Women have historically been the most quiet, or perhaps I should say least violent in our own defense, in the face of attacks, and media routinely get away with insults to the feminine sensibility. Now, they're gobsmacked by the outcry against their attempts to corral our bodies, and Flush's recent sewage put us all over the top: The Last Straw!
