"GOP is now the party of extremists"

I could think of better words than "extremists," but you get the point.

(By Cynthia Tucker) It is fashionable among reporters and ostensibly non-partisan observers to parcel out blame for this depressing state of affairs equally among Democrats and Republicans, but that's simply not accurate. Most of the blame for the current state of affairs in the Senate -- as you've figured out if you've been watching the Republican primary campaign -- belongs with a GOP that has becoming increasingly obstreperous even as it becomes increasingly unmoored from reality.

Saying so now is kind of like just learning that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalkers father.

We've been drifting rightward for the past couple decades.
We need to put the center back in the center. We ALL need to work toward this, every day, whether it's simply pointing out extremism to people around us in our daily lives, or shouting it from the proverbial rooftops for everyone to hear.
We need to make discussion of "putting the center back in the center" part of normal conversation.

News at eleven: Duh.

They've been extremists for years and their party leader, Limbaugh, is one of the reasons for it.
