Devastation

Updated: March 3, 2012 6:30 am ET

One of the most destructive tornado outbreaks for early March raked across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys Friday March 2.

According to our Tornado Expert Dr. Greg Forbes, Friday's outbreak has the potential to be the largest on record for the month of March. The existing record for this month is 74 tornadoes in the outbreak of March 11-13, 2006.

Below you'll find a map with the tornado reports from Friday. Click on each tornado symbol for more information including the time and location. As of Saturday morning, there were around 95 reports of tornadoes in at least 10 states from Mississippi to Ohio. Keep in mind tornado reports will be consolidated when damage surveys are done, so these numbers will likely be revised downward.

In addition to the tornado reports, there were more than 400 reports of large hail and more than 200 damaging wind reports.

The report is that about 100 homes are destroyed. Luckily there are no deaths reported and only minor injuries.
