I already contacted my Democratic Congresswoman to tell her I support her position on this but I've been struggling with my Senators - McCain and Flake (oh, joy). I know it is not really the Senate's fault but I wanted to let them know how pissed I am. I kept writing and rejecting messages until right now. I finally settled on shot and simple:
I just want to make it clear that I consider the Republicans to be 100% at fault for this government shutdown - and I will remember this every time I go to the polls (and I NEVER miss an election).

(7,044 posts)I contacted teh Boehner as well. Give the RepubliBaggers Hell till they stop blackmailing America.
We need a Tsunami of protest.
But being from OK will not help much. No response yet, not even a canned one from my rep or senators.

(7,549 posts)I suspect I will get some letter from the last one telling me how proud he is of his vote. He's been repeating that to the local newspaper every day this week.
What and ffing ass he is.
In Schumer and Gillibrand's case I thanked them for standing strong and urged them to continue to do so. I mentioned the precendent it would set as being frightening.

(5,018 posts)I can sympathize - my rep used to be Schweikert - you know, the one who said this was his idea of fun. Thank the FSM for redistricting (I probably live in the only red state where anyone is saying that!) - now I have Kyrsten Sinema.
