They keep saying NOTHING regarding the condition of the female suspect, although they continue to say that the Child in the car is safe and sound.
I've seen this enough lately to know that this likely means the suspect is probably dead. I imagine we'll get confirmation one way or another in the next couple of hours.
Sadly, if the young child in the car is the suspect's own, they witnessed the death of their parent.

(2,667 posts)But do you honestly think that the story we get will in much of any way resemble a factual account of events? and who will tell the story? Will news reporters delve into facts and find witnesses or will they clamor around police officials and then echo the news conference they were provided? And before you answer ask yourself, which of those two do you see most often these days?

(2,795 posts)I know people are angry and desperate - but really, trying to get to the president or anyone in congress? It's impossible. You're on the losing end here.

(12,051 posts)I would say 'poor kid,' but I don't know. This may be a blessing in disguise if the parent was this messed up. Horrible to say, but there it is.

As usual, after the dust settles we'll have a clearer story.

(3,194 posts)These days, police don't even always require a sound reason to shoot someone dead.
But give them a solid reason, like trying to ram the White House gates, and you should pretty much expect this result.
Hope this was intentional on her part, because the result is her child(assuming), will now grow up without a mother.

(65,616 posts)I don't understand why this situation would be any different? Maybe because of a child in the car?
BUT they always shoot to kill.

(3,194 posts)It may very well have been warranted in this situation, but the mindset that "they always shoot to kill," is pretty sad.
Police are not supposed to shoot to kill unless their lives or someone else's life is in danger. Certainly applicable in this case, but not ALWAYS, as you imply.
In this day and age though, I think cops pretty much feel they have the right to shoot to kill. Same thing that Zimmerman got away with, by claiming he was in danger. It's often an excuse to justify an otherwise negligent killing of an unarmed suspect.
